My artwork draws inspiration from three main sources: first, from pop culture influences, notably the film Her; second, the evolution of artificial intelligence and its impact on the art world; and third, our personal and societal relationship with technology and its dominant role in our lives today. My goal was to evoke a complex mixture of emotions through this piece, which is why I left certain areas blank, avoided centralizing the composition, and deliberately included smudges. The use of red and blue highlights the emotional contrast between the benefits and drawbacks of our dependence on technology.
Created in digital media, my piece also mimics traditional painting techniques, such as oil painting, creating a paradox. This approach critiques the overuse of technology while simultaneously leveraging its tools for artistic creation. The digital medium, which I frequently use, reinforces this contrast.
In conclusion, the depiction of a 'kaiju' or a monster larger than computers symbolizes the resilience of art, mirroring humanity's strength. Just like art, we are capable of overcoming the challenges we face, standing strong against the potential pitfalls posed by technological advancements.
