Gabriela Farnell, born in Lanús, Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1967, where she currently resides and works. Self-taught, she has developed a personal and characteristic style, fusing a classic aesthetic - supported by careful and polished drawing - with the playful spirit of Latin American magical realism.
Farnell's approach is characterized by a notable openness to experimentation with various artistic media and materials, which she reinterprets in unconventional and innovative ways. Likewise, she subjects the paper -her preferred support- to the intervention of fire, water, and intentional tearing, in order to provoke unexpected textures and ruptures that are integrated into the design of the work, generating in the viewer the need to delve in and discovering the reality of the artwork in the process of contemplation.
Through self-management and relying on the democratization of the art market caused by the massiveness of the Internet, Gabriela Farnell has exhibited her work in numerous exhibitions, individual and group, both in Argentina and abroad since 1992:
