My name is Maryam Gomizi and my artistic name is Mary G. My journey in the world of art began in Iran, the cradle of art, culture, and a rich civilization. Like every other woman in my land, I have experienced and lived through years of restrictions against women. For me, art has become a tool to make the voice of Iranian women heard, who for years have been crying out for their right to freedom, but their voice has not been heard.
I have always tried, perhaps I can be a worthy representative of my land. Behind each of my works lies passion, hard work, and hope. As an artist, I have learned that art is not only an expression of emotions, but also a tool for those in society who were neither heard nor seen. In my works, you will find a world that often reflects the voices less heard. My works—from intricate and detailed portraits to fluid movements—are more than just a technique; they display stories that have often remained hidden. I invite you not only to look at my art but also to feel the emotions it evokes. Thank you for being with me on this journey.
I use various materials, from oil to charcoal, to bring these stories to life.
