Descrição:
This work focuses on the complex relationship between humans and nature. The artist holding a pot with a plastic flower inside serves as a powerful symbol of the artificiality of the modern world and the destruction of nature. While the pot appears as a symbolic representation of nature, the plastic flower signifies the artificiality produced by human hands. This plastic flower, which cannot replace a real plant, critiques the superficial connection that contemporary society has with nature, the desire to control it, and the artificial elements that replace it. The artist's feet, buried halfway in the soil, represent both a physical and spiritual connection to nature, highlighting the depth of this bond while also emphasizing its fragility. Being partially submerged in the soil suggests a kind of inevitable, irreversible relationship between humans and nature; however, like the plastic flower held in the hands, this bond is superficial and ready to be broken. This direct contact with the earth reminds us that humans are intrinsically part of nature, while also symbolizing the damage inflicted upon it and how this connection has been compromised. This conceptual work presents an allegory that questions humanity's relationship with the natural world and how this relationship conflicts with the artificiality of the modern age. Through the depiction of a world where the natural has been replaced by the artificial, where roots strive to remain in the soil while life on the surface becomes increasingly plasticized, the viewer is invited to rethink the balance between nature and humanity.
