“Washerwomen by the River” is an ode to ancestry and to the strength of women’s gestures. By depicting these attentive, dedicated figures at the riverside, I celebrate childhood memories and scenes witnessed on the small rivers of southern Brazil. Watercolor, with its freshness and spontaneity, allowed me to highlight the movement, the colors of the clothes, and the rhythm of this daily labor, transforming it into visual poetry.
